Managing Director of Aleonor, 44 years old, British, father of three, Master of
Engineering (Oxford 1991), MBA with distinction (INSEAD 1997), Chartered
Engineer (MIET).
Robert began his career as a pre-university employee in the
marketing branch for corporate accounts of IBM in Manchester (UK).
During his four years at university he was
sponsored by BOC Ltd and undertook various placements in R&D and
the implementation of a computerized demand
forecasting system at locations in the UK and in New Jersey USA.
With the objective of learning French after his engineering
degree, Robert spent three years with Peugeot in production engineering at
Coventry, Paris and Sochaux (Eastern France) before becoming a management
consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick in Paris and pursuing the automotive connection
with the implementation of Activity Based Management at Renault.
Robert completed his management training at
INSEAD and joined the investment bank Lazard as an analyst in mergers and
acquisitions where he accompanied the merger between Aerospatiale and Matra
leading to the privatisation of Aerospatiale - precursor of EADS,
the European Aerospace and Defense Society.
He then took on the role of head of Investor Relations and acquisitions
at communications group Havas in a phase of aggressive external growth.
Robert created his own consulting company Aleonor SARL with three partners in France in July 2003 and Aleonor Ltd in the UK in 2005.
He also became an associate of seed-capital fund Conquest Venture at its creation in 2003 and in 2005 co-founded LASTER Technologies, the specialist in Mobile Informative Eyewear for Augmented Reality Applications. Robert acted on the supervisory board of the software company As An Angel from 2008 to 2010.
